snowboards got invented because of a surfer wanted to ride in the snow. the first snowboard was two skis bolted together. in 1977 the first company came. the first boards didn't have any bindings but it Had a leash like a surfboard. they were not allowed on public slopes. first boarders would go when the slopes were closed and had to walk up the mountain. snowboards also had fins on the bottom like a surf board but more and more rides started to take them off. later, bindings found its way onto a snowboard and it was a great change with snowboarding becoming so big still only 7% of resorts had snowboarding permits.
